Sink your teeth into fusion

The Lucky Tiger Sandwich Co.

From the moment that I heard co-owner of City Butcher Cody Smith was going to be opening an Asian fusion sandwich shop, I was excited! I have loved everything he has put out at the flagship bbq shop on south Campbell on the south side of Springfield, so I was really looking forward to his new adventure.

I have made a total of at least 3 trips to Lucky Tiger since it opened this September, trying something new with each visit. They offer quite the selection of Banh mi and American classic sandwiches. So far I have tried the beef bulgogi banh mi, the falafel salad, Lucky tiger burger, crispy chicken sandwich and the tater tots; both the kimchi tots and the Togarashi tots are delicious.

Since their opening Lucky Tiger has continued to expand on their menu. They now offer ramen on Wednesdays and tacos on Tuesday. Both of these offerings are only available on the aforementioned days of the week, so plan your lunch or dinner accordingly!

How could I forget to mention the interior of the restaurant itself?! Once you walk in you are greeted with very colorful art work on the walls. Everything from portraits of 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G to Michael Jordan and Bruce Lee. All three times that I have dined in, they have had classic 90's and 2000's hip hop/rap music playing, which is right up my alley so I have really enjoyed each of my visits!
