Team Taco

When I made the decision to start food blogging, I had just heard about the guys at Team Taco. They had been running a taco truck and were opening a brick and mortar location on Cherry st in Springfield in the Rountree neighborhood. I looked at this as my opportunity to make Team Taco my first post of a restaurant that was having a grand opening. I was able to be one of the first people in the door when they opened. They have great outdoor seating with umbrellas for shade and a nice water fountain in the middle of the seating area.

Since my initial visit, I have pestered this glorious taco haven multiple times to get my taco fix! They don't have a huge menu, which I enjoy because I get choice over load easily! But the collection of tacos and nachos they offer, they do very well! These guys are serving up a nice variation for you to choose from:

The Groundskeeper: grilled chicken, Rojo sauce, cotija cheese, cilantro, and onions on corn tortilla

Globetrotter: smoked pork belly, Verde sauce, cotija cheese, cilantro, and onion served on a corn tortilla

Groundskeeper : roasted carrots and zucchini in Verde sauce, cilantro, cotija cheese, and onion served on a corn tortilla

B.A. Baracus: braised beef brisket, rojo sauce, cotija cheese, cilantro, and onion on a corn tortilla

Average Joe: Ground beef, shredded green leaf lettuce, cheddar cheese served on a flour tortilla

Every week they offer a rotating taco called The Ringer. These ringer tacos are always a fun surprise to see each week. They do an excellent job of coming up with something that i would never have thought of! For example, they did a trout taco called " Its A-Trout Time". A trout taco topped with Doña sauce, sliced cucumber, house-made guac, cilantro, pico, and fresh jalapenos on a toasted flour tortilla.

And last but certainly not least, the nachos. I have tried the nachos once, its hard to pull me away from the tacos! You get to choose ground beef, chicken , beef brisket or even veggies. I went with the ground beef, topped with your usual suspects. Lettuce, cheese etc. We also had a side of the chips and salsa Verde and a can of the Andy's Root Beer which is made by the the fine folks at Piney River Brewery.
